I like Uni-Form. Before I discovered it I thought about implementing the forms on a customer's website by using tables - even though everything else is standard compliant and basically accessible. Thanks to Uni-Form everything looks neat without tables!
Now that our forms are set up we need to validate them. I like the idea of displaying a list of errors on top of the page and link them to the same error messages right at the respective form fields. JavaScript is ok but not in your present solution where errors occur on onblur. Well, maybe we change it to onsubmit. But a PHP solution was even better. Are there plans to provide an as simple solution as Uni-Forms in the near future? Otherwise we'll have to get busy ourselves.
Yeah, you are correct, the current implementation of Uni-Form's client-side error checking is not too great, and that's why it isn't a part of the official package yet. Ilija is currently tied up with the activeCollab 1.0 launch and he doesn't have the time to deal with this, and I can't write a line of JS if my life depended on it. (Note to self: Learn damn JavaScript.)
However, please feel free to contribute to Uni-Form in any way you like, I'm sure the community would appreciate it. A user from this forum said that he made improvements to the php handler so maybe you could get in touch with him and see how far he is in the development? Just a thought.
Cheers.
yeah, I haven't posted it cuz I really hacked my way through it, I'm actually more of a front-end guy/designer, but I hacked my way through the php handler to learn PHP OOP.
If anyone is interested, like I said, I'll post it, but it's UGLY.
Also, I'm working on JS validation, which won't be as ugly, cuz it's more my thing.
Cheers again Dragan, this was a great idea!
Looking forward to it, cheers. ;)
